Reiki

Reiki is an ancient healing system, based on ancient wisdom it was rediscovered in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui towards the latter part of the 19th century. He named it Reiki, pronounced Ray-Key this is a very powerful natural healing based on the applying of Universal Life Force Energy, that is what the name literally means!

Dr. Usui was able to teach others how to transfer this energy, making them Reiki practitioners. This was through a series of "attunements" the person then became a Reiki practitioner themselves. To channel Reiki energy you must have had an attunement by a legitimate Reiki teacher. Once a person has had an attunement they are then able to channel the energy through their hands and into other people. There are generally three levels to Reiki, Reiki 1, Reiki 2, and then master.

You can transfer the Reiki energy into another person by laying-on of hands, or even from a distance.

Once someone is a Reiki teacher he can attune other Reiki teachers, thus carrying on the tradition. A teacher does this by opening up an energy channel in the practitioner, from the top of the head to the hands. This enables the Reiki energy to be channelled from the Universe through the top of the head and into the hands. This process is called an "attunement."
